The pictures in this portfolio are hybrids of about 50% work on Paper and 50% drawing with the PC. The basic ideas were drawn with pencils and color ink pens on paper in 1980, size about 21x15cm. They were digitized as high-end scans and the pictures have been completed with the computer. Description for the complete portfolio: After the paper drawings, made with anything but non fade colors, on which the visual content of these images is based, had been exposed for roughly 25 years to light, most of the original color was gone and in many parts the lines were faded too. When I decided to scan them, restoring the “original” was never my aim. I wanted instead to recreate the visual content by creating a new “hybrid” unity, showing as I see it, in subtle but also impressive ways the essence of digital production capabilities. As a consequence of this work I discovered this as production method for future works as well, like “Wiener Mut” (Vienna Courage) or “Tagungsfrieden” (Peace at the Conference), including new ways combining elements. Enhancing my “visual vocabulary” so to speak is my main goal in this context, not to show off rather shortlived but most impressive digital tricks of the trade.
