Concerning this image, nearly the entire paper sketch was painted over only with digital “oil” color after it was digitized. Though there is a faint resemblance to the real thing, looking at the colors, the digital simulation of oils differs fundamentally in every respect. This lack is of no interest for me, since I take it as a given condition which I choose as a playing field for a game offering much less degree of freedom than real oil colors (which are probably the most versatile of all “real” media), but which has a distinct nature of its own, showing great homogeneity as well a nearly unlimited scale concerning shape and color. The title, by the way, reflects what got me the title of "Hieroglyphic", my first image done completely by over painting with digital “oil”.
