“The Gatlings”
"The Gatlings" was created between Sep. 2004 and Sep. 2007 with
"Painter". It
is based on three line sketches of the heads and a
photograph of mine.
Print: Piezo-Print on Somerset Velvet Size: Paper: 76x112 cm, Picture: 60x88 cm Copies: 25, numbered and signed, and 5 artist's copies (I-V) Price: 675.‒ Euros Artist: Björn Dämpfling
Though all three heads are based on a paper sketch done at
different dates in the same period of time, this image is no
“hybrid”, not only because the digital work accounts for more than
95% of the imagery, but also because it includes the composition as a
whole. “The Gatlings” are on the one hand the ones the “Gatling Gun”
— an automatic cannon — is named after, (look at the right head), on
the other hand “Gatlings” are small figures sitting on the knuckles
of a leather or fabric glove, a “gauntlet”, belonging to a knights
armor. Those longing to identify this “Infernal Trio ” may do so, at
least if one can “read” the numbers (no problem on the print). These
three sequences of numbers are: Left 44 48 52 19 32 Middle 47 57 42
19 32 Right 52 42 43 19 41
